Lumen Optometric is a high-end eye-care experience that was designed with a balanced blend of clinical and retail zones. Baffles line the retail space’s ceiling, softening sounds while adding a textural layer to the space. Custom wood wall display shelving and storage keeps the retail zone clean yet warm. Custom floor fixtures that are delicate and functional organize the front of house. Oak wood tones and pops of color provide visual interest in the retail shop, while a muted and calming palette is utilized in the exam areas. The combination of materials, fixture design, and spatial organization allows for a patient experience that feels clean and approachable, achieving the owners’ goal of creating a space friendly for all ages. After their recent opening, the small town of Sierra Madre has commemorated Lumen Optometric for bringing life back into an otherwise sleepy corner of Sierra Madre Blvd.
